TITLE: Unitary representations for real and p-adic groups

Abstract

The unitary dual of a real and p-adic reductive group is important for problems in analysis, mathematical physics and automorphic forms. This talk will explain some of the techniques used to determine this dual in the special case of spherical unitary representations.
