TITLE: The Salvetti complex and the l2-cohomology of Artin groups

Abstract

To any Artin group A one can assciate a certain finite cell complex XA called its ``Salvetti complex''. Conjecturally, XA is an Eilenberg-MacLane space for A. This conjecture is known to hold in many cases. I will describe the Salvetti complex and discuss the conjecture. Finally, I will discuss a simple formula, due to Ian Leary and me, which computes the reduced l2-cohomology of the universal cover of XA.
