TITLE: | Positive Curvature and Fundamental Groups |
A central problem in Riemannian geometry is to study the interplay between curvature of a metric and the topology of the underlying manifold. In this talk, we are concerned with the fundamental group of a positively curved manifold. We will first give a brief account on the history of the study of the fundamental group of manifold with positive sectional curvature. Then we will describe some most recent development on this subject.
